China and Saudi Arabia signed cooperation agreements in 35 sectors including energy, transport, mining, logistics services, auto industry, medical care, information technology.
According to the Saudi news agency, the Chinese President met the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz at Qasr Yamama in Riyadh. On this occasion, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman was also present.
The two Saudi leaders welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping and his delegation to Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, the historic friendship between Saudi Arabia and China was reviewed and the strengthening of relations in various fields was discussed.
On the occasion of the Chinese President's visit to Riyadh, 35 agreements were signed in the capital between the institutions of the two countries in various fields. The parties also signed memorandums of understanding. These include important sectors like energy, transportation, mining, logistics services, auto industry, medical care, information technology.
According to media reports, the agreements will help in the stabilization of the economic and investment relations of the two countries, while the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 will also be achieved.
The Saudi Ministry of Investment signed 3 MoUs, under one of which an aluminum industrial complex will be established. The second MoU deals with the consolidation of supporting industries in the petrochemical sector, while the third MoU deals with technology development, research and manufacturing of medical devices in the Kingdom.
The Saudi government also signed three memorandums of understanding with three Chinese companies in housing matters, under each of which one lakh houses will be built with China's participation.
