Consider a one-year prison sentence for extramarital affairs.

Indonesia is likely to introduce a law punishing unmarried couples living together and having extramarital affairs with up to one year in prison.
According to the World News Agency, Indonesia is considering the implementation of the law, the first attempt of which failed due to violent public protests in 2019, but this time the government claims that the law has been relaxed.

The new bill proposes a one-year prison sentence for unmarried couples living together and having extramarital affairs, but the provision of the law has been relaxed compared to the 2019 draft.

Under the relaxation of this law, now only close relatives such as parents, husband, wife and children can complain about extra-marital relations. Not every special or general person will have the option. In the same way, the punishment for insulting the King of Indonesia was also kept and the most commotion happened on this clause in 2019.

Is. Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and head of the parliamentary commission overseeing the revision of the law, Bambang Warianto said that Parliament will hold a full session to ratify the regulation.
