As water flooded the streets of Venice, tourists were advised to walk safely through Italy's historic city. In Venice's St. Mark's Square, the tide reached six feet, sending water over the streets of the city, with citizens walking around the flooded city with safety precautions in place.
Italy's 'Echo Alta' season of high tides is underway, with waves six feet above normal for the first time since 1966, damaging the glass barriers that protect the city.
