It has been 40 years since famous singer Roshan Ara Begum left her fans, she was awarded the title of Queen of Music, Roshan Ara Begum created the magic of her voice in hundreds of films, she was also awarded Pride of Performance and Stara Imtiaz.
Roshan Araya Begum, a bright star of the world of music, was born on January 19, 1917 in Kolkata, her real name was Waheed Nisa Begum, she received her music education from the famous singer Ustad Abdul Karim Khan and got the title of Queen of Music.
Roshan Araya Begum used to travel to Lahore to participate in All India Radio programs before the partition of India and also organized memorable music concerts at Chen Pir's tent in Mohalla Pir Gilaniyan Mochi Gate.
After moving to Pakistan in 1948 and marrying a music-loving police officer, Ahmed Khan, Queen of Music Roshan Ara Begum also sang songs for films composed by composers such as Anil Biswas, Feroze Nizami, Naushad and Tasadeq Hussain. Roshan Aara Begum created the magic of voice in the films Pehlani Nazar, Jaganu, Fate, Roop Matibaaz Bahadur and Neela Parbat.
The Government of Pakistan awarded Roshan Ara Begum the Presidential Medal for Good Performance and Star Distinction, Roshan Ara Begum died on 5 December 1982.
