US history record 858 billion dollar defense budget approved
The US Senate, while approving the largest defense budget of 858 billion dollars in history, sent its summary to President Biden.
According to the British news agency, this amount is 45 billion dollars more than the amount of the defense budget proposed by President Biden, while it also cancels the mandatory corona vaccine mandate for the military.
83 members voted in favor of the National Defense Authorization Act, and 11 voted against. The 4.6% increase also includes money for the purchase of weapons, ships and warplanes, while financial support for Taiwan and Ukraine in the face of threats from China and Russia has also been included.
Among those who voted against the bill were liberals, who object to the ever-increasing defense budget, while economic conservatives who favor spending cuts also opposed the bill.
It should be noted that after the approval of the US House of Representatives last week and now the Senate, the next destination of this bill will be the White House, where the President will sign it, sealing the change in the law.
