Shaheen Afridi nominated for player of the month.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has shortlisted two England players, including a Pakistani fast bowler, for the Men's Player of the Month Award for November 2022.
Shaheen Afridi
National fast bowler Shaheen Afridi took 11 catches with an average of 14.09 and an economy rate of 6.15 in the T20 World Cup 2022, but he could not bowl any more in the final due to injury.
His best performance came in the match against Bangladesh in the Super 12 stage, in which he scored 22 runs in a spell of 4 overs and guided 4 bowlers to the pavilion and won the Player of the Match award.
Shaheen also excelled in the semi-final against New Zealand, conceding just 24 runs in four overs, claiming the crucial wickets of Finn Allen and Kane Williamson.
Jose Butler
England T20 World Cup winning captain Jos Buttler has been nominated for scoring 80 off 49 balls in the semi-final against a strong side like India and forming an opening partnership of over 170 runs with Alex Hales.
He scored 207 runs in the event, which included 2 half-centuries. He also provided an aggressive start against Pakistan in the final and, with excellent captaincy, restricted the national team to just 137 runs.
