What is the threat to America from Tik Tok?
Why is TikTok, one of the most popular apps among the youth with more than a billion followers, under constant criticism? India banned TikTok in 2020 citing threats to national defence, integrity and public order. Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh found Tik Tok's content to be against their culture and ethics and banned the app. Rather, this app was banned four times in Pakistan, but later these bans were removed in all three countries on the assurance of Tik Tok management to regulate its content.

Statements regarding TikTok's privacy policy and access to user data have been coming out repeatedly from Western countries. Recently, the director of the American security agency FBI has described Tik Tok as a threat to the national security of the United States in various statements.
He said that we have national security concerns on the TikTok app with the FBI. Its parent company is controlled by the Chinese government, which gives the app the ability to take advantage that, I think, we should be concerned about."
